Eepsitha Muppasani

Eepsitha Muppasani is a rising senior at Northeastern University majoring in Biology with a minor in Behavioral Neuroscience on the pre-med track. Her interest in sleep stemmed from her fascination with the brain and its processes, and as someone who used to work 12-hour day and night shifts, her interest in sleep increased as she herself experienced varying amounts of sleep between her shifts. These shifts increased her interest in the role of sleep in human cognitive and emotional functioning, especially since it’s critically important for healthcare workers to maintain cognitive and emotional function while providing the best patient care. Sleep is a very regular thing in everyone’s lives, so it’s fascinating to hear how something as regular as sleep can have such a huge impact on people’s daily lives, and I am intrigued to investigate this relationship. Along with research, Eepsitha also worked as a Clinical Care Technician at Tufts Medical Center and now works as a Medical Assistant at Mass Eye & Ear Longwood. She is also Vice President of the College of Science Student Diversity Advisory Council and a member of Northeastern’s Malhar, the university's competitive Indian classical dance team.
