Chen Luo
Hello there! My name is Chen. I am a registered social worker and psychotherapist licensed in Ontario, Canada. I was born and raised in Mainland China and started my career in Hong Kong in a corporate setting. I later pivoted to the field of mental health through my social work training at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
I use various evidence-based approaches to support my clients, including Compassion-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and EMDR. I am keen to explore how research can be translated into actionable insights that benefit many more people in real life. This is also what drew me to my current pursuit of public health education at Harvard.
The more I work with my clients, the more I connect the dots—the role of sleep is extremely critical, yet so often overshadowed by other priorities in this modern world. Today, sleep has become one of the areas I care about most in my clinical work, and I continue to witness both the toll of its lack in various aspects and the significant benefits that come with its improvement. I am excited and honoured to further my exploration into this area by joining the Center for Sleep and Cognition!
